Additional Antec Sonata III 500 Quiet Super Mini Tower ATX Case (Black) Information

The third chapter in the Quiet Computing story written by Antec - it's everything you've come to expect from the prestigious Sonata line with even more upgrades and improvements. The Sonata III is whisper quiet when it comes to system noise while with the new High Definition front audio ports the sound you want your system to make will be crystal clear. And the front eSATA connector allows for simple data transfer. And all that means the Sonata III is the perfect combination of style, silence and efficiency.

What Customers Say About Antec Sonata III 500 Quiet Super Mini Tower ATX Case (Black):

Not a mobo controlled/controllable fan. Looks like a computer, not a space ship, yet still has all the features a performance modder wants. So I replaced it as well so the mobo would stop posting fan failure and so it could vary the speed according to load. I installed a second fan in the front and it's still quiet. One thing though, the fan in the rear that came with it is a two wire powered from the power supply. Other than that it's awesome, love the lockable door over the drives and power button (even though I don't lock) and I love the quick latch to open the case which is also lockable. I always leave the case unscrewed for easy access but this one if you do that you still have a latch to keep it together tight.

I have to admit that I bought this case because it was suggested to me by a "build your own computer" website. The bottom line is that the case may not be wide enough at 8.1". When it arrived, I was in love. However, since I have now decided to go with an I7 chip set, it will require more than simply the generic CPU heatsink. Other than that, I have no problems with it at all. Antec does it again.

I don't see any major issues with this case. The door is a bit annoying though. I really feel that one could do without it, especially in a home setting where you really don't need to use the lock.

Mine arrived with three dings two at least actually seem to have occured during manufacturing since they were on the top (which is the well padded part) and apparently dinged from the inside out. Very easy to work on. This is my second one. The case is built around the box of hardware (screws, spacers etc) and it's very hard to remove the box.

Extrememly quiet, especially if the lowest fan speed is selected. Beautiful case. The sides are unprotected by anything other than the cardboard box and material bag the case is in. Inconveiniet and dumb of Antec.3. The power supply has ample wiring connections for everything imaginable and good cable lengths also.Three compaints:1.

The original one I bought from Fry's was perfect.2. The fan speed control has no obvious place to go, it just dangles. I was so impressed with the beauty and silence that I decided to buy another one to replace an existing Antec case I've had for a couple of years.Contrary to another review here the finish is black gloss (with plastic front swing door) and beautiful. You have to destroy the box to get it out of the case. Amazon simply ship it in it's manufacturers box with no additional packaging.

Something this heavy stands a very good chance of getting dinged in shipping. It took a few minutes of trying to figure out that there was no other way of removing it. It would be nice to be able to select speed from the back of the case.

The case is perfect. In order to turn the PC on you have to open the top side door, then when the PC goes on I have to close it back. Nice looking, quiet, awesome powersupply. The only issue I have with it is the power button. I wish the power button was available somewhere else so I don't have to open/close the door each time. But don't let that stop your purchase, as this item is a great deal.
